Finnish schools in 2006


At the end of 2006 there were a total of 4,610* schools belonging to the Finnish education system operating in Finland. In addition, there are some organisations that are not included in the school classification (such as continuing education centres). The school home page directory gives access to home pages of schools belonging to the Finnish education system (including Finnish schools abroad).

At the end of 2006 Finnish schools were divided according to the classification of this directory in the following manner:

In 4,610 of the schools the language of instruction was Finnish, in 410 Swedish, 48 schools were bilingual (Finnish/Swedish), 4 were English, and in 2 schools the language instruction was other than these.
